Exquisite Blood is the key to unlocking Torment-level Lord Zir in Diablo 4, but it’s rare and spread across multiple endgame activities. Farming it efficiently requires planning, prioritising the best sources, and knowing when to take advantage of bonus drops.

The most consistent source is the Blood Maiden during Helltides. Each spawn guarantees one Exquisite Blood, and Helltides refresh regularly. By either helping summon her or waiting for others to do so, you can collect drops while clearing enemies and completing the zone. This semi-AFK method ensures your time spent farming is productive.

Secondary sources include World Bosses and Legion Events. World Bosses grant three vials per kill, while Legion Events can drop one or more. These should be treated as bonuses rather than your main source. Elites, Treasure Goblins, and Whisper Caches occasionally provide drops as well, but chasing them specifically is usually inefficient.

Optimising your farming loop is essential. Stick to Helltide zones with fast-clear builds, prioritise summoning the Blood Maiden, and continue clearing the area while waiting for her to respawn. Adding any active nearby events or bosses to the route increases yield without additional travel time.

Trading can supplement or even replace drop-farming. Selling boss materials, runes, or loot for gold lets you buy Exquisite Blood directly. This is particularly useful for players wanting to skip RNG and run multiple Lord Zir summons efficiently.

When ready, use nine or twelve vials at the Ancient’s Seat in The Darkened Way to summon Lord Zir at your desired Torment difficulty. Clearing his arena rewards special hoard chests with access to other lair-boss loot pools. A build that can handle arena spacing and rotating adds will make each Exquisite Blood count, giving you a direct path to rare uniques, mythics, and valuable power items.
