Forza Horizon 6 Safety Guide: Play Smart and Avoid Bans

Forza Horizon 6, set in Japan, brings a bigger and more detailed world—but it also comes with a stricter security system. The game constantly checks your account with official servers to make sure everything is fair. To enjoy the game safely, you need to balance your competitive play with the Forza Code of Conduct. Here’s how to stay safe and avoid bans.

1. Drive with Technical Integrity

The ForzaTech engine has evolved in FH6, making most old modding tools useless and easy to detect. To protect your account:

  • No File Modifications: Editing game files or using external trainers to cheat will trigger automatic bans. Even having cheat tools installed while playing online is risky.
  • Avoid Economy Exploits: Inflating credits or XP artificially is a red flag. FH6 now performs a “math check” on your earned history; mismatched numbers can get your account flagged.
  • No Unreleased Cars: Trying to access vehicles before they are officially released can result in permanent hardware bans.
  • Keep Saves Clean: Save editing or “save swaps” are monitored. Cross-platform progression via Xbox, PS5, and Steam is strictly verified through cloud servers.

2. Master the Safety Rating System

FH6 uses an AI-driven “Ref” system to monitor online races and assign safety ratings from S (best) to E (lowest).

  • Stay Out of Low Tiers: E-tier results in a 50% reduction in race earnings.
  • Predictive Logic: The AI can differentiate between accidents and intentional crashes. If another driver is about to collide due to reckless behavior, the system flags it.
  • Redemption Trials: If your rating drops, solo Education Events let you recover by following a lead car perfectly for three laps without contact.

3. Follow User-Generated Content (UGC) Rules

Everything you create—cars, liveries, and player names—must remain suitable for all audiences.

  • Prohibited Imagery: Avoid anything profane, drug-related, or infamous.
  • The “Candy” Rule: Jokes like “Free Candy” decals can lead to instant suspensions.
  • Keep It Clean: Paintable windows and new decal options must follow the “E for Everyone” rating.

4. Maintain Online Sportsmanship

Your behavior online is just as important as your driving skills.

  • Race Cleanly: Avoid bumping, forcing others off the track, or “pitting” competitors.
  • Don’t Retaliate: If another driver is unfair, report them through the official Forza Support rather than responding in kind.
  • Respect Communication Rules: Hate speech or harassment in text or voice chat can result in immediate bans.
