If you are self employed, in your country you have to inform the corresponding tax authority. This can be done, for example, in the UK in relation to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), through an online registration process. In this case, information such as personal information, type of self employment, business structure that you take in must be filled. And the most important thing is that you do this as soon as you decide to work for yourself. This one is key to receiving your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) number, and to being set up for making tax/payments.
